Cummins Inc., Joins the Reboot Coalition

The Reboot Representation Tech Coalition is pleased to welcome Cummins Inc., an industry leader ushering in the next era of cleaner, smarter power generation as a General Member. Cummins’ commitment to inspiring employees to reach their full potential and creating a more dynamic workplace is critical to our goal of investing in the success of Black, Latina, and Native American (BLNA) women and girls in emerging technological fields.

Tonya Sisco, Executive Director of Global Equity Programs at Cummins, shared, “Cummins is thrilled to partner with Reboot Representation through the Cummins Powers Women program. Together, we’re investing in a future where women and girls in tech not only thrive but also lead. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to building a more inclusive workforce and driving lasting economic advancement for generations to come.”

The Reboot Coalition was founded in 2018 following a first-of-its-kind report to collect data directly from tech companies to understand how they approach philanthropic and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The report revealed that while tech companies express a strong desire to reach BLNA women, less than 0.1% (or $335,000) of their 2017 philanthropic giving focused on reaching them specifically.

The Coalition, including Cummins, represents a collective effort to combat these gaps in corporate giving. Today, the coalition has 18 members, and has collectively pledged more than $27 million to strengthen the computing ecosystem. This collaboration has catalyzed the industry. From 2017 to 2023—two years ahead of Reboot’s  2025 goal—the number of BLNA women graduating with computing degrees more than doubled.

“The Coalition’s conversation, collaboration, and commitment has led to the number of BLNA women computing graduates doubling in 2023. This is real progress—and we are just getting started,” said Dwana Franklin-Davis, CEO of Reboot Representation. “We’re thrilled to have a partner like Cummins join us in this critical work so BLNA women and girls can lead the technological fields that shape our world.”
