Jannie Fernandez is the Director of Talent Engagement at Representation. Originally from Barranquilla, Colombia, Jannie joined Reboot Representation from the National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT). At NCWIT, Jannie was the Director of Women of Color Programs, where she focused on broadening the participation of women and people with disabilities in STEM disciplines.
Today, Jannie is developing strategies to inform Reboot’s operations, coordinating strategic engagement with our stakeholders and partners, and conducting direct outreach to students and talent acquisition teams to double the number of BLNA women in tech.
For over 18 years, Jannie has managed external stakeholder relationships and leverages her experience in community engagement to bring opportunities to educate, inspire and advocate for the advancement of women of color in the tech sector.
Jannie taught various Science subjects, including Biology and Physics while serving as Special Education Department Head for a public high school in Miami, FL. She obtained her BS in Special Education with a focus on learning disabilities from Florida International University and a MS degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Colorado Boulder. She is based in Richmond, VA.
