Advice :The most important thing I’ve learned in school and during my time in America is to show up. People might understand that you’re tired or juggling a million things, but it truly warms hearts when you make the effort to be present—especially when it’s hard. And don’t forget to show up for yourself, too. You are your biggest advocate, and no one will represent you better than you can. Be proactive—don’t let college just happen to you. Take charge of your experience. You’re paying heavily for it, so make it count! Attend networking events, join clubs, apply for scholarships, and explore new places when you can. Live a life that both your future and past selves would be proud of. These experiences not only enrich your journey but also help you build a lifelong network. Lastly, make an effort to connect with your teachers and staff. Let them know your name and show them your dedication. You’d be surprised how often they’ll think of you when opportunities arise that fit your goals.
